1/4 cup orange juice **

***** 1713: The Dutch unwittingly provided Louis XIV
of France with a coffee batch whose descendants
would produce the entire Western coffee industry. In
1723, French naval officer Gabriel Mathieu de Cheu stole
a seedling from Louis XIV and transported it to
Martinique. Within 50 years, an official survey recorded
19 million coffee trees on Martinique. Eventually, 90
percent of the world's coffee spread from that one
plant.
